Our team of professionals are the pick of the crop in the Komodo region. And they can’t wait to cater to your next (and best) dive vacation. Clare and Michael have been working, diving, and learning all we can about Komodo for years. We have managed and operated a highly successful five star luxury Komodo liveaboard (ALEXA Private Cruises) in the Komodo area. We have gotten to know the brightest rising stars in the local scuba circles, including our long time industry experienced partners Pablo and Jessika from Sweden. In March 2015, we recruited 32 staff, and established our own operation.
And so Uber Scuba was born. Our own day trip boat (not a rental) is the “KLM Iona” – named after Clare’s mum. She is 24 by 4 meters of comfortable, convenient, and super safe scuba ship. In December 2015 we lauched our Komodo liveaboard ‘KLM Amalia’ which sleeps 11 guests for 3, 5 or 6 nights and weighing in at 27 by 5 meters. In mid 2016 we also welcomed ‘KLM Karina’ – named after Jessika’s mum for leisure and private charter groups.
Our Boats have been build in Labuan Bajo and are all old cargo ships, stripped to their iron wood hulls and rebuilt by our team of Sulawesi wood workers to ensure solid, long-lasting quality. Each are outfitted with the most modern and reliable GPS, VHF radio equipment, emergency oxygen, lifejackets and first aid supplies. We even bring a speedboat with our day boat for added flexibility and safety, we are proud to say that we are the only day trip operator to offer this. There is plenty of shaded deck area, freshly prepared meals, and ice cold drinks in the cooler. Our professional crew is always willing to help you with whatever you need. Whether you’re in the water, or waiting to dive in!
Have you read any scary stories about the currents in the area. Have no fear! It’s a big part of the reason why the diving in Komodo regularly rates as some of the best in the world. Not to worry. Safety always comes first when you dive with us and there are plenty of calm and sheltered areas where we can introduce you to our seas, and abundant sites in which we can teach you to use currents to your advantage. Our team has worked these waters for years; they’ve learned to read the skies and the sea.
